DYE Spyder V2, now featuring Shocktech...

What was once a red Spyder Compact with some DYE accessories on it, has been going through a constant evolution adapting to the user's needs... a reflection of his own evolution and experience... And he has been killing it with a 16" 0.688" DYE barrel on this beast!

My friend has taken a liking to the red Spyder Compact that I gave him originally, so much so that I got him a custom red jersey to match.

I then realized that he was fast outgrowing the cumbersome powerfeed, and he would benefit from a centerfeed body...

After a fun research project to find a red centerfeed Spyder body... ah-ha, the Esprit! Bought the whole thing from Bacci, just for the body.

Now, we are here, at a place in this marker's evolution that we will call Version Two...

With any amount of luck, V2 will see the field on Xmas eve...

I have an awesome set of clear DYE panel grips, but still don't know what size of grip screws to get...

Red's not my thing, but that's really sweet.

I put a Bob Long 1911 frame on my ICON X and it completely changed the feel/handling in a good way.

looks good. unlike the above poster, im a sucker for the red kingmans. IDK why.

a trinity clamping feed neck might sit a little lower. (just to keep the profile a little shorter)

looks good so far though. Keep posting

David, I can get you the screw size when I'm home from holiday. That will be in a week's time though. Maybe someone can get you help before that.

Red is definitely not my thing, and it's why I gave this to him.

He has taken to this in a pretty phenomenal way, given that it's his first summer playing paintball.

Eventually we will be installing a Spyder VS3 balance valve, DYE rotor hopper, DYE throttle tank for Version Three... I have a black DYE Airport ASA for it, but need a red Shocktech rail adapter, little stuffs like that...

Until then, V2 holds air!

Looks pretty cool. Does it cycle? In my experience, those Hyper 2's max out at ~450PSI. Lowest I could get on an older spyder was something like 600 PSI with a stock valve. Not that I tried very hard haha.

Grip screws should be 8-32, btw.

The Hyper2 is maxed out, but the thing shoots.

I only likes to cycle with paint, throws a fit if you dry fire it.

But that was with an all aluminum closed face venturi bolt, now it has a much lighter and more open Supafly bolt... which should help.

Version Three will include the balance valve, which will work way better with the Hyper2.
