Gah I still have to finish the Bobiverse. Loved the first one.

I just finished American Gods. Awesome.

Now it's back and forth between the second Mistborn series (the first trilogy was great, highly recommended if you dig high fantasy) and White Fragility.

Just finished "The righteous mind" by Jon Haidt. Starting on "The coddling of the American mind" now, his book that birthed the viral "The Atlantic" article.

Great analyses of why American culture has become so contentious, and on how to better relate to those with whom you disagree. One of the few "defusers" left in academia.

Off the history kick needed some escapism:

"A Hymn Before Battle" by John Ringo book one of the The Legacy of the Aldenata. I've read them before enjoyed them looking forward to enjoying them again. I also love the fact he included references to Sluggy Freelance and Bun-Bun in the series.

The books are way better too. The movie was a really bastardized version.

The movies are almost always bastardized versions, but then again I read Jurassic Park, literally put down the book and went to the theater and was not disappointed.

I have been reading a lot, and it is wonderful.

Just finished Over the Edge of the World, which was about Magellan's voyage.

Before that was The Testaments, the sequel to The Handmaid's Tale.

Before that was The Body by Stephen King.

Now I'm reading The Martian Chronicles, and just started the first Stormlight Archive audiobook.

Bradbury was a genius. If you like the Martian Chronicles there's plenty more of his stuff to run through - there's a compilation with something like 100 short stories that are totally worth the time. I haven't read any of his stuff for more than 20 years but some of his stories still randomly pop into my head.
