m17 grip fitting

So I picked up grip 23 from Umbrella Corp (love it), but it required slight modifications. The curved rest at the top of the grip needed to be trimmed about a 1/16" so it fit square. I then I had to carve a slight recess for the selector switch spring, the stock grip had a slight gap between the top of the grip and the trigger frame while the new grip sits flush and I guess it completely compressed the spring so the selector couldn't move.

These aren't issue I found problematic, just a couple min with a dremel, but I figured I'd share for those thinking of picking up another grip. Has anyone else had to modify a real steel/airsoft grip to fit the m17 proper?

Edit: pics

Gab between trigger frame and stock grip with spring visible

No gap between trigger frame and new grip

I mounted a CCI .45 grip block, it required me to shave down the grip for selector switch clearance.
With some Ar/M4 grips, there is some necessary modding needed for non-real steel applications.

I hate to go off topic but, what's with that trigger? I thought the one I saw at PBE was just a prototype but, I'm seeing it here and even on Hustle Paintball's video. It looks like it was hand molded.

Does it look / feel as if it was literally hand molded?

BTW, great job on the grip mod!

The trigger is really comfy. I really don't care how it was made.

The trigger works fine. It does look like a large Whale [Redacted] hanging out there tho.

I won't even go into the grip thing, but, its frustrating to take a new $20 grip and then have to cut it down to size.
