Texas Magfed Official Ruleset released

I figure I'd beat Matt to the punch on this

I'm pretty happy with these rules. I think there is some room for adjustment, but all in all, this is good. More clarity for games means fewer disappointed players and less arguing.

It is also worth noting that LMGs "spring actuated magazines with no more than 150 rounds" include Qloaders. I confirmed that inclusion with an admin from the group.

Seems overcomplicated.

Players must use a marker fed from a magazine that must be removed from the marker in order to reload. Magazines may contain no more than X projectiles. Wouldn't that be more clear and simple?

The classes make it seem LARPish.

High capacity magazines(box mag, hopper) ruins the whole point of mag-fed.

Exemptions make me wonder... why even call it mag-fed?

They are developing the three 'classes' as a way to address the expectations of players. SOME players seem to want magfed to be Milsim. Others feel that large loaders, magfed conversion kits, Qloaders, etc are are or are not magfed depending on their personal definitions. By laying out the various classes, they are able to communicate the specific game type without headaches or whining from players who heard 'magfed' and thought it was something else.

TL;DR hole size controls how fast balls get spent

You can load one side of a Zeta, but still have to remove the mag and flip it in order to use those paintballs. So I think that still works.

Your honour, I present the lawyer for the defence!

I was just attempting to point out that sometimes what we perceive as being a simple to understand and enforce rule/regulation/law often has room for interpretation/application that was not anticipated at it's inception. By offering an interpretation contrary to my own, we have together solidified my point!

BRO-FIST!

I see what you're getting at..

..but wouldn't it have been better to say what you just said in the first place, instead of leaving your meaning open to interpretation?

I have read through the rules several times and I do not see a definition of "magfed" Is that spelled out somewhere that I am not seeing?
