Pistol mag (tpx/tib) questions

I am contemplating a mag feed conversion for an obscure marker. I would like to go full tilt and eliminate the airline and drop for a more true-to-life feel. Worst case scenario, I make custom mags and keep the airline. But for me to do what I want to do, I need some questions answered because I have never even shot either the Tipx or Tib pistols...

Remember please! I am looking for info on both the tipx and tib mags and any other brand mags that still use 12g's...

First, can I get a decent measurement on size of the mag? Overall height not needed, just length and width.

These things do hold Co2 in them when the mag is removed correct? They dont vent the 12g when removed?

On that note... How does the magazine valve work? How does it hold air in the mag when removed? How is the marker aired up with a mag installed?

Durability of the mags?

Anything else I should know?

For those wondering, I am completely new to mag-fed stuff. I own nothing that is mag-fed currently.

Thanks!

I can get you measurements later when I get home.

The TiPX mags only hold balls, the marker holds the 12g. And because of that TiPX mags are SUPER cheap. And you have 3 different mags to choose from right now. Standard 7 round, Zeta mags (20 or 24 rounds, I forget. You flip these. Fire 10/12 on one side, flip them upside down to the otherside) and extended 12 round.

Tiberius mags are rock solid but pricey. They hold the co2 which holds air when you eject it/its not in the marker. It vents a tiny bit, maybe one shot worth of air every time you eject the mag. You can get about 4 useable mags per 12g I think. There are 18 round extended mags for these, but they're rare and VERY pricey.

I dont think its technically a carbine. Its a little too long for that. The air and feed point happen to be so close together at the fake mag well, that it should be an easy job to make it true mag fed and tankless.

So Tipx mags are out then. Back to the Tibs. How does the air valve work in the mag and marker for the 12g?

If you look at the schematic of the reg assy #5 is the CO2 stem
this enters into the hole on part #7 of mag schematic
which in turn is the first schematic of the CO2 valve housing.

TL;DR hole size controls how fast balls get spent

So its basically a check valve? When the mag is inserted in the grip, the pin in the bottom of the reg pushes tbe check valve open...

Is that correct?

your going to find running with Tib mags will get pretty heavy but its the price to pay if you want the air in your mags.

Its a possibility. I will need to get my hands on a mag for trial fitting in the near future.
