Minimalist Mag-fed, my MK5, many mods.

Sorry, couldn't help the alliteration.

Just about finished with my new mag-fed setup.

Had a bunch of A5 parts just laying around, and picked up a few more while assembling it.

Gold JCS power tube and bolt, home made high flow LP valve, Lapco dual adapter drilled out and used as an in-line volumizer, JCS rear velocity adjuster, Palmer's female Stabilizer in a block mount, J&J 45 grip, SP wood grips, Spyder threaded barrel adapter, and of course Freak barrel with 10" Teardrop tip.

Still need to make a better airline setup for it, the white macro just doesn't look right, and I'd like something sturdier. Might have some braided the right length, but just for the fun of it I may go with steel brake line.

The Spyder threaded Freak back and the Spyder barrel adapter don't quite get along perfectly. Barrel seems to stop threading in about 1/8" too soon, so the insert can slide back a bit. Might switch to a Cocker threaded adapter or pick up an A5 back. Also since Mag-fed friendly days tend to be pump friendly days, and my main pump is my Hammer, it would be nice to free up the Spyder threaded back.

I have an urge to start cutting weight off of this body. Window out around the metal power tube, do some skeletonizing cuts around the hammer and bolt, shave off a few unnecessary bits and bumps.

Strong work. Where did you pick up that J&J 45 grip??

I really like the minimalist approach.

What sort of load out are you going to use for mags?

One of the best parts about this forum is you can find just about anything with a post in the WTB section.

Had two people offering them to me with in days of asking about them.

Sticking with minimalist there as well. Vests are just too bulky. Right now using a simple battle belt with a 3x2 mag pouch, maybe two if I need more mags. The battle belt is still a bit too bulky for my tastes, I need to get one of the elastic harnesses with the molle webbing.

Pretty sure the Lapco cocker barrel nut should work in that body. MCS also has one but I haven't tried it yet so I don't know how well it fits or if the threads are 100% good. I'm hoping to pick one up for one of my Hurricanes, the other already has a Lapco nut which works great but is longer than even the Spyder one I had.

Really liking that frame! Looks almost like an Intelliframe, would be interesting to see a pneumatic sear on these markers.

Haven't seen one of those frames for a long time. Forgot how awesome they look especially with the wood grips.

Out of curiosity, what kind of shot count are you getting from the 13ci?

Well, right now it's tuned for the lightest mainspring possible, and may not be optimized for efficiency. So light main, RVA backed all the way out, 400'ish on the pressure, very high flow valve, no restriction on the power tube (no choke on those old gold tubes, had to be used with a reg or RVA), and a very light valve spring.

Scientifically speaking I may have introduced way to many variables into the equation.

But I think I was getting around nine 14 round mags (double stacked sevens), so 126 or so, depending on how good of fill I had at the time. Plus I wasted quite a few shots with tuning last time I shot the thing, so my guess may be way off. I hope to go play next weekend and I'll try to get a proper shot count.

Hence the plan of carrying 6 mags, just in case. I have larger tanks if I need to pile on the mags of if I pick up some larger mags down the line.

This is about what I was going for when I bought the other MK5 in the thread you got this one from, but I ended up needing money and sold it. Good to see one of us saw the project through.

I was going to out a T2W stock on it and mount the tank under the barrel.
