Couple questions.

Hey all. May pick up a magfed marker, but I have a couple questions. I've been looking at the TMC, but I know the MG100 is a thing and I will likely wait 'til that comes out before I make a decision. In the meantime...

What's the difference between the Bolt/Hurricane/Blizzard/etc.? Body style? They all seem like the same inline blowback. Anything internally different?

I've read that mags aren't the nicest on paint over time. Do FS rounds hold up better in mags over the day? That may factor into whether I pick up something FS ready or just go with round ball.

May have other questions as I think of them. Thanks for reading.

I went with the TMC cuz I was just starting out and it is my first marker and if I'm gonna shoot first strikes I'm gonna do it out of a sar12 plus fsr are expensive in Canada

Bolt and Blizzard use 98 internals and are a blowback marker.
The Hurricane is a x7 Phenom flex-valve (think automag) marker.

All shoot first strikes and can use the Lok-Bolt.

The Hurricane operates about 350psi and is more consistent than the standard 98 valve markers, also a bit quieter for shot. Mine shoots FS very well.

First strikes hold up very well in all conditions.. for a long time. They do not deform in mags or under spring tension. Eventually with enough time and humidity the fins and paint section can separate, and they will sweat a little... after 3 years of being in open air sitting on my table in a hot garage .

FS ready markers shoot round ball just fine as well. Some mags require stronger springs to shoot FS more reliably, and these cannot shoot ball, or you need very hard balls. Some mags are easy to switch springs out, some take a little more work.

I've owned an Automag and TPX before, so I'm familiar with that platform. Didn't realize that's what the Hurricane was though. I'll have to look into the Bolt & Blizzard further. A cheap 98 and conversion kit is probably the cheapest way to try it. Also good to know about the First Strikes. So if I buy some I don't have to worry about them going bad anytime soon.

Thanks for the posts guys.

Phenom valve functions same as a TiPX just bigger, and similar to an Automag.

One of the better value mechanical semiautos in magfed still.

If MCS had actually been at Kilo games at EMR, then I would have bought a Hurricane instead of the T15. I would very much have preferred to get the Hurricane tbh.

I wish MCS made a pump gun using that valve, the Bolt is decent but it's real kicky. I guess they'd have to 'break' the gun like how they do Automag pumps though.
