Another btsa17 review

So haven't done this before figured I would give it a shot.

Overview:
The bt sa 17 is a beast of a marker. Its a bit on the heavy side but is definitely worth it. originally out of the box it was getting ~25 shots per 12 gram at around 275. No, I didn't pause for three seconds or whatever. Was shooting as if it were in a game several bursts with a pause.
It is cocker threaded but I don't really see the point in swapping out the barrel.
Stock barrel shoots straight.
The "10"(really holds ~13) spring feed makes the gun pretty dang quiet while running.
I have bunkered several people in speed ball just because they couldn't hear me running at them.

Reliability: Mine have never failed me .I have owned several for from 6 months to 3 years. Any leaks I had were fixed by a little lube added to the 12 gram.
I have literally thrown this marker across the field and nothing happened. The plastic frame is solid. I mean solid Mine still doesn't have a single scratch yet.

fun factor: Nothing but my c3 and thumper beat this thing in terms of fun.
this is the nonelectro I am willing to run against my field team.

Be warned this is not a side arm. The bulk makes it perfect to run by its self.

Honestly compared to the t68 gen 3, Tiberius t8 and t9(not really a pistol ish) I would pick my bt any day.

Sent it off to Vitalsilence he modded it for me now it is even better.
With post current stats when I do a complete test in the morning

mods to make life easier starting removing the extra co2 clips making changes actually fast and easy.

also, he re did the bolt to reduce friction

And best of all he freak bored it!!!!!!!!

Using Leland 12 grams
Update/ new tests
My bt now apparently doesn't get up to 280 anymore but that's fine cuz I always feel bad shooting people at close range with it anyways.
First test was just shooting wit ha pause only to reload
Avrages~260 fps .684 paint with a .684 insert.
Max fps 268
low was a 247
the drop off on the final shot was down to 200
total shots was 40
I would say that 38 of them were 100% usable.

Test number 2
.684 paint thru a .682 insert so a slight under bore.
A one-second pause between shots
Honestly, didnt see that much of a difference Slightly higher velocity same number of shots same drop off
max fps 275
average 265
low 253
the final shot drop was 210

I will mess with it more to see If I can get to 285 If I can I will re test

swapped out the spring
got it up to 280-290 not the most consistent
cut my efficiency almost in half
got 24 solid shots
probably just gonna put it back at 260 don't need the extra 20 fps where I play will take the efficiency all day.

Good write up. Waiting for part 2 of testing to see how many shots you are getting out of a 12G now.

I would love a freak bored one of these. I was initially attracted because 10 rd tubes are so much easier to use than mags. I hope to try one someday.

send a pm to Vitalsilence. he's open to doing the work.

I should stop telling people so I can have the only freak bored one I know of haha

Ps just waiting for it to warm up a bit outside to do testing
will do one just shooting as it would be during play and one for extreme efficiency.

I can confirm that swapping springs works fine. I've got mine up to 280 using a Spyder spring kit. I can't speak about efficiency though since I have yet to do any real field testing with it.
