In basic it got cold when we were in the field and the coldest post of that ftx I was given a jambalaya. Maybe I was just cold as I had little to no fat on my body at all, but that heated up and hot cranberry applesauce it came with got dessert hit the spot!

Canadian Armed Forces IMP Thai chicken or Indian chicken were my 'go to'

My least favourite was the salmon.

Whenever we did exercises with Americans I always wanted to trade for the pop tart in their MRE!

indian chicken actually sounds like that would be a solid flavor, and i feel like tikka masala is so strong that it should survive the canning process with very little flavor change

I actually thought it was OK. But for a while in 88-89 they had a bad batch and we tossed those in the trash on orders.

My favorites always involved BBQ or "spiced sauce".

Screw the omelet and the dehydrated beef/pork patties. BARF

The 5 fingers of death was decent if you mixed in the beans and some tobasco.

The early MRE's had dehydrated fruit, with the strawberries being the best IMHO.
