Help me pick a Navigation/Sound system....
For obvious reasons, I had a lot of time on my hands today. During that time I remembered that the stock 6-CD changer in my '03 Mountaineer had jammed yet again and that regardless of how much free time I have it's just not worth fixing anymore (the frequency of jams has increased).

Looks like it's time for a new system, and not the same thing...

What I want:
-Navigation, reliable/simple
-Auxiliary Input
-CD player
-Visible clock
-Internal Memory(?)

What I don't want:
-$1000 price tag
-Folding/Sliding/Motorized screen
-Confusingly complex UI
-Neon, carbonfiber, tuner garbage
-"Hidden" CD slot
-Cheapo crap that will break

-DVD player
-Fuel cost calculator, restaurant reviews, etc
-"must have accesories"

Anybody have experience with these setups? Brands to avoid, brands to look out for? Specific models that work great? I'm not too hung up on sound quality as long as I can pound Metallica without fuzz that isn't supposed to be there.

Most of the touchscreen units won't have a visible cd slot, so I think you're hosed on that choice.
A great online resource to browse through is Crutchfield.
