Unique instruments

There are a lot of odd musical instruments out there. Here's a couple of my favorites.

I have an otomatone, I showed a video to my ex and she fell in love with it and practiced. She even wrote all the notes on the side for me and played ďAfrica by TotoĒ for me.

I really like the dizi, the Chinese bamboo flute. Itís really hard to get good tone out of it, my traditional flute is a breeze comparably. But this dizi has such a rich sound.

The contrabass sax is really cool too, I got to see one at a Violent Femmes concert it was sick.

I love the cimbasso, which I recently discovered because of this video:

That's pretty awesome. I need to get one myself.

Careless Whisper is hysterical on otamatone.

Though not really unique, I'd never heard of a reed organ until my son, who is an organist, needed to store one with us.

A million of them were made in the 1800's, but instantly became obsolete once electronic organs and keyboards came out in the 30s.

You have to pump the damn thing, constantly, to keep playing, using your knees to control the volume. It makes more sense once you realize that the modern accordion evolved from these old reed organs.
