I hate to think about the amount skin collected in a nelspot rental.

I only took me a day to decide to buy my own marker without a knuckle cutter.

Well my battery finally is off the charger and pics taken

The scar you are looking at started in 1986 with a Nelson 007 same as examples pictured above in other posts and continued until about 1990 when I got smart and had enough money for a Lapco Grey Ghost...

on to the pics

I circled it with a ink pen to show the full length of my cocking scar

It was great fun back then but by the end of the day I usually had a bloody finger and sore thumb

you gotta be pretty OG to have that. not even people who started by the time nelspots come with a pump sleeve will get that.

It was a combination of the knob and the slot cut into the steel body where my finger was rubbing and sometimes getting pinched from trying to cycle to fast...

If you look at the examples of the 007's posted in this thread you can imagine trying to cock one and not hurting your finger ( it can be done without the pain but you have to be mindful about what your doing )...

I hope that helps answer your question

I think WK just cut himself with a knife and then took a picture. I know how he operates!

When I started, we were classy with our SL-68s!

Weren't the first pump handles DIY PVC adventures? If so, you can take your scar as a failure to innovate
