Phantom with ASP detents. Cbore barrel with inserts. However you like your 12 gram gas source. Most useful stock class and economical marker.

I am a huge fan of brass markers. But, it would take a custom brass marker to allow freak inserts. Vertical asa is as close to a vsc configuration.

Find a Lapco grey ghost! If you keep looking over about three months, you will see a few come up.

Mike does a stock Phantom barrel bored for inserts as well now.

Can't beat brass, they have their quirks but there is just something about brass markers, I bought a pgp2k1 over half a year ago for $75 it was rough on the outside but had been rebuilt and came with one of the metal speed feds, I just dug it out the other day thinking about selling it but I can't bring myself to part with it

PGP is as pure stock class as I've ever used. It's not for the faint of heart. The PGP 2k solved several of the problems without straying too far from the original spirit of the PGP.

On an almost unrelated note: I am selling a lovely PGP 2k. (https://www.mcarterbrown.com/forums/p...gp-pgp-2k.html)

Depending on the condition of your phantom I'd even consider a trade.

Just a thought.

If you want brass, and Vertical air you are going to have to do/have done, some custom work or go with Palmers, which is going to raise cost.

The suggestion for a Stirling is on that to be honest I am embarrassed that I didn't mention.

Had my PGP2 stolen long ago. Made a name for myself on the local airball/speedball field with it to the point I got scouted for a national tryout. Brass guns are indestructible and are workhorses. Problem is I'm in a financial rut right now so gotta sell my phantom. I was curious as to what's out there.

Try to find an older Kingman Hammer, toss a 12g changer, stick feed and a smaller bore barrel on it and you could have a stock class set up for well under $100.

There is a fairly nice super stocker for sale right now on the BST under rare guns. Great shooters, but not sure if it fits your budget.
