I would recommend an Axe. It's been my go-to electronic gun for years, which is saying a lot for a gun whore. I could give you the whole talk about why they are so great but you can easily find all that info with the search button.
As far as ergonomics, the Axe is different than other guns but it isn't uncomfortable. I was able to adapt to the gun very quickly.
I recently picked up a Gtek 160R because all the great reviews. I was sure it was going to replace my Axe considering its costs and the fact that the 160R has a decade of "paintball improvements" over the Axe. After giving the 160R a fair amount of playing time I still preferred the Axe. So I sold the 160R and spent $600 on a Dark Axe Pro (that speaks to how much I love the Axe platform).

Axe is hard to beat, especially for the used market price.

Thank you for all your replies. I did some more research and then bought a used Axe, played with it this weekend and I am more than happy with it, it works like a charm and I actually really like the ergonomics. I didn't have time to fiddle around with the settings before playing and just used the previous owner's settings, worked fine but I will probably sit down, learn some more about them and do some tweaking of my own in the near future.
On a sidenote I also did some maintenance on the Etha this weekend. Just took it a part as much as I could think of and cleaned everything, I put it back together and now it's leaking like hell. At this point I think I may have met my nemesis as far as markers go
Thank you all again, wish you the best!

You ever try a pink golf ball, Wally? Why, the wind shear alone on a pink golf ball can take the head off a 90-pound midget at over 300 yards.-Six String Samurai.
