Why didn't I try this years ago?

I know I am waaay late to the party, but I can't imagine why I didn't try out pump years ago. I have played with slingshots and tried the bow setup but I really think I found the sweet spot with Pump.

To be honest, I haven't ever played around or against many people with pumps over the years. There was a D2 guy with a pump I watched light people up from the back bunker on a speedball field one time many years ago and another guy more recently that had one he played with a few times but I never got a chance to try it out.

Like everything I do, I didn't wade into the waters but I have jumped in the deep end. With out ever holding one, I got the Phantom, and spent 3x what I paid for the gun in upgrades, parts and accessories. But I tend to go big or not at all.

Once I get all my parts in and installed I will really start playing. Our field is mostly rentals and walk-ons so I have an opportunity to play more. With my Etek setup, no one wants to play me on a normal day, even though I shoot semi and don't overshoot people. I'm at the field more than most because my son works there so I have to play whoever shows up on slow days. At least now they might be willing to give me a shot at playing with walk on groups.

Anyway, I just wanted to say to anyone who has been playing for a while and never tried pump, give it a shot. It really is a lot of fun.

Welcome to the funner side of paintball!
My first pump pandemonium game - Fraggles vs Muppets got me hooked.

Be careful or you'll end up breech loading single shots into a brass marker. I hear it's a natural progression.

All I remember about that game was the stupidly long hike to the field haha. Oh and our RV getting stuck in the mud.

Got to really play for the first time with my setup Saturday night. Just missing the ASP center feed breech but had the undercocking kit and using my Sly barrel. So much fun being able to move freely. I need to get my aim a little better and it will be fine. I played with a group of walk ons and got a few people out. It came down to me and two guys left. I got the one but the other was hard to see. He finally ran out of ammo as I was on my last 4 shots.

Also played against my son one on one with him using a borrowed Tipx with one mag and me only using the 12 round tube. We never hit each other but we had a blast playing. I finally ran out of paint. I really think I am going to enjoy playing pump. I get the center breech so I can aim better and it should be a lot of fun.

The rental guys had no issue playing against us using the limited rounds either. That's really what I was hoping for. It is also nice that my son and I can play on the same team. That never happens normally. Now I have to go buy that Tipx for him to be able to use.

i tended to use my pump more often than most specifically for that reason

having a pump, a 17ci tank and a winchester makes walk-ons a lot less intimidated by you

and paying good money to sit around all day cause nobody want to you join them is freaking annoying
