Ok, I'm gonna have be the one to say it?

In the age of mass shootings, the hyper realistic milsim look is not gonna be good for paintball.

But, oh well, better grab a buck while it's still legal.

You think that thing is "hyper realistic"?

Referring more to some of the other guns pictured in this thread, including a bunch of Tippmann stuff. The last big incident in NYC our perpetrator was carrying a paint gun for some reason. Just give the politicians an excuse, it doesn't have to make much sense. We are not a large community with any kind of voting power so our only hope is to stay under the radar

It's not, by the way, the little boutiques like CCM that worry me, it's the Tippmanns of the world who can mass produce this stuff relatively cheap for WalMart

When the airsoft stuff, which is actually 1:1, starts taking heat, then it might be time to worry.
Heck, the actual devices that facilitated the Vegas massacre are still perfectly legal.
Navigating between courting potential players interested in living out their Call of Duty fantasies and staving off reactionary media backlash has long been a tricky task for the paintball industry, but for the time being it looks as though the dangers of affiliating the aesthetic with real steel firearms are minimal as long as it's done tastefully.

Does anyone else remember the whole thing a while back about airsoft guns being able to be converted into real guns?
They call airsoft paintball with out paint.

I’m a little surprised they never went after paintball markers. Especially now that we have milsim. Just thought it was interesting. Considering I’m sure a tippman 98 could stand the course of say a .22 better then an airsoft gun. Just a weird thought I have.

I kind of want one even though I have really been waiting for Tippmann or BT to release a serious competitor to the Dye Dam. Maybe a updated x7 that has the capability to use tipx magazines, a rip clip or a defender style hopper like this.

Don't expect much for a $300 price point. I preordered a TCR and that was a completely disappointing marker and it was a complete waste of money. They never made the preorder date anyway Tippmann currently makes nothing anybody other then a player using rentals or an entry level player should buy. Instead of this milsim looking crap spend a little more and get a GTEK with a gamma core, Axe Pro, or an Etha 2. They actually shoot and work reliability. Cheap is always cheap. Don't expect a value.

Maybe this "leak" was so Tippman could get public opinion before they did a big run of them.

Nobody here is expecting this thing to compete with tournament equipment, don't know where you're getting that idea... I have electros, I wouldnt expect this to replace them - what I expect is for it to be novel. If you want raw performance for the dollar, the home of rare pumps and vintage mechs is the wrong place to preach it.
