Size and weight are going to be the question, though. At what point are we approaching the weight of a lightweight 45/45? And if the 45/45 is the same length or shorter, as long as you're not using it in-stock, is extra width a problem?

(I'll probably still buy a 20-ish/45 if/when they become available...)

Width is not a problem but I do perfer my 13ci over my 45/45 width. It's much more comfortable to shoot when shouldered.

I feel like I get a substantial shot count from my 13ci I run a drop back and reg extender for length (full block). I uaslly use a stick feed with it on my open class pump. I go for the 45/45 with my 50 round setup. This new option could give you the same feel as the 13ci / 17ci but get more shots out of it. I'm interested to see the product. I imagine it needs to be Hydro tested and won't fall under the 2" rule like a lot of the 3k tank options. But it might be a perfect setup for an open class 50 round pump setup.

The 45 sl 2 at that weight and size seems more versatile. Quite the combo.

The 2 inch rule and the perfect length has kept me with a 17 so far.

For me its about weight. With some of the setups I have I would never need more than a 20/45, so if its not too long and its lighter enough then why not?

The 2" CF tanks really have my attention since they'll fit inside a stock. A 13ci tank is nice for magfed so far as form factor is concerned but shots per fill is definitely an issue.
