Sorry for the politics; I generally assume it's OK on strictly paintball-related issues
With the way partisan politics are going these days I wouldn't be surprised to see Republicans vote positively on this bill. Apparently because Trump is a closeted gun control advocate it's now in vogue to be a Republican who is for gun control.

I don't really consider this a political statement, because it seems very unbiased and you don't really voice political opinion.

Your fine.

As per political indoctrination, this is as old as time. From discrimination to romans raising foreign kids the roman way, I cant really say that dems are at fault cause every party has done this at one time or another to one group or another.

Personally I dont like this bill and disagree with the party pushing this, as its unreasonable.

To me, this is ridiculous.

Can sell and buy REAL weapons with zero issue, but TOYS... oh no sir... we couldn't possibly...

This is two things:

#1: Trying to make it look like politicians are doing 'something' about guns whilst doing nothing.
#2: Stopping liability of the police (etc) when they shoot someone carrying a toy.

In short, if you value you Constitutional rights, you should be against this, as it is a step in the process to take them away. (No, I don't own a fire arm btw, no I don't belong to NRA or whatever... but rights are rights.... learn when to spot the warning signs).

Not a surprise to see this kind of thing going on in Jersey.

Laws that strip people of their rights have a way of turning on their supporters. If you think this isn’t your problem just because you’re not into milsim, you’re mistaken. If signed into law, this bill won’t just affect replica milsim markers like the TMC and T15. The wording of the bill can and eventually will be interpreted to include what are technically non-replica milsim markers as well, such as MG100s and TiPXs. After all, how can a police officer always be expected to tell the difference from a distance, right? And if those are made illegal, there’d be no reason — none that the courts would care about, anyway — to not also include on the ban list any paintball marker that is black, blue, silver, and/or aluminum in color, because after all, how can a police officer be expected to always tell the difference from a distance? Frivolous bills like this have the potential to be devastating for people like us. I don’t know about you, but I like owning my Automags, Autocockers, Tippmanns, Phantoms, etc., all of which are either black, gray, or silver.

But nevermind how a law like this can be twisted into expanding its definition of “replica firearm” to ultimately affect the legal ownership of your black Etha. How about having some principles and a little empathy? If milsim isn’t your thing, or if you dislike the milsim community, that’s fine. I’m not into milsim, either, and I’m not asking you to like them or approve of their style of play. But we should be better than contently sitting by while the rights of others, especially people we might not like, disintegrate away just because their passion and enjoyment isn’t “our thing”.
