Does anybody still play Quake?
So... Anyone else still play Quake?

Not any other ones, just the original, 1996, Shub Niggurath killing Quake.

I actually use the ProQuake engine because it's closest to stock. I figure if I've been playing for the last 12 years like that I can keep going like that.

Plus all the usuals (ie. TF, zoid's CTF, etc.). FuhQuake and zQuake seemed to be discontinued.

We sometimes switch over to Deathmatch Classic as all the newer players have been corrupted by BF3/MoH/etc. and complain that original Quake is "too fast to possibly play." Heh. :ROTFL:

Lol. I find BF3 and the like to be too slow to enjoy...

Would anyone be up for some classic DM?

I can't even remember the last time I even played Quake online. I will have to see if I can dig it out, I know I have Quake II here somewhere a bit more accessible since I have played that in the last few years.

Is there still any kind of following for the old Unreal Tournament games?

Heretic! :p

Yeah, there is a following for UT. The joy of Quake is that since it was open-sourced, anybody can compile it and play for free. Set your server to allow download of maps and away you go. What with all the custom maps/textures/etc. you don't even need to worry about the copyrighted stuff.
