Nice swag/mod!. Is this 1 of 2 wood furniture styles? Didn't you also pick up a wooden pistol grip as well?

I found one on an auction site called Ioffer. The way it's supposed to work is you agree to the listed price or make an offer and if the seller agrees they then invoice you for payment. I got my invoice, but when I followed the link to pay it, it said it was already paid. I tried messaging the seller but got no response. Then I got a shipping notice with a tracking number that doesn't work with any of the major shipping companies (supposedly it's coming from Thailand). So, if it shows up, I guess I get a free grip. But at this point I'm guessing this is going to be a bust.

Like I told Crimson Death on FB earlier, even if it never shows up or I can't track another one down, that wood pump handle will still look sexy as hell with the Hogue if I can't get used to the pirate grip.

After realizing that my Mossberg 500 stock is too long, I think I'm going to blatantly steal your idea. Thanks!:p

when i saw the original furniture i was like "noooo!, why cut that!" but the results so far are stunning *claps*

PistolRogue 07-15-2011 10:16 PM

Well, that pic isn't the actual furniture, just something I googled for an example. These bits were quite a bit rougher and for $40 on Ebay, not something I felt bad about dicing up.

Looks damn sexy!

UPDATE!!! Yes, it's still alive!

Well, the other wood pistol grip turned out to be a wash... If it was intended to be a scam it was the worst one in history... but oh well..

ANYWAY, last night I finally got the new delrin pump lathed down into a sleeve/bushing and fitted into the wood pump. Wound up having to mill the 90 degree pump arm down where the two screws attach but about halfway and then re-counter-sink the holes, then a crapload more sanding and dremeling. What I thought was going to be an easy jaunt took me all damn night at work and it's still not QUITE done. Still have to trim the passenger side for the Gen 3 feed's spring retractor slot and then clearance the front of it a bit for where the slot goes into the 90. After that it's just a finish-sand, stain, and seal away from being finished!

Unfortunately, I won't be able to work on it again until Monday night since I'll be spending the rest of the weekend in Wildwood drunk like a fratboy wannabe...

I could have taken pics... but I figured it was more fun to tease the results :ROTFL:

I have to say man, this is looking uber cool. I have to see this in person. But...something just dawned on me.

Plus this (or something like it)

...would be, quite possibly the most amazing DSG ever. Keep up the nice work man, I hope I run into ya on the field one of these days.

OMG that is amazing. Makes me want to get a DSG.
