i might be able to afford that once it is available, but for the moment, any extra money i have will be going to finishing my car. i still want one though, lol.

melkson 02-29-2012 01:56 PM

at $1000, I won't be able to get one new. Instead i'll wait for a year and grab one for about $600 on here.

Dibs.

Just saying.

VooDooAddict 02-29-2012 03:23 PM

IF they actually come out, and the reviews aren't abysmal. This will get my $$ for a full sized first strike rifle before the T4.

commandoman 02-29-2012 03:27 PM

Oh come on guys, it's ONLY the SAME price as a REAL-steel, rifle...

HA! Dibs is the same as shotgun, you have to see what you're calling before you can call it. So, you're gonna have to beat me to it! :p

I never understood this sentiment... For one, how often do you legally get to shoot other people with a real steel rifle, and two, even First Strike rounds are cheaper per unit than most rifle rounds.

Let's be honest here guys, $1000 for something with these kinds of features for a VERY small niche market is and AWESOME price, if the quality is there. That remains to be seen but so far it looks promising. I wish I could have been at Extravaganza myself to have seen it but my teammates who made it down were very impressed. Now, can we all afford that price? No, probably not, but just because I can't afford an Aston Martin doesn't mean it isn't worth the price. I'll be saving my sheckles for this.

GoatBoy 02-29-2012 09:07 PM

Because $1000 should reflect the cost of the quality of manufacturing/materials and the amount of engineering and test work that went into a product, not how often I go on killing sprees with it.

A gun like this most likely isn't going to have quite as much high quality metal/machining as a real steel rifle, and nowhere near the engineering and research that goes into a real steel rifle.

russc 02-29-2012 09:12 PM

It also won't have the production numbers of a real rifle.

Yeah I forgot to mention that...

But then again, how complex are these parts, and what are they made out of? Mostly aluminum and brass? Rest is plastic?

Guess we'll have to see the end product to know.

JKR 02-29-2012 11:48 PM

A friend and teammate of mine (a PTI instructor) is at the show for the duration and got to take a look at the SAR12. He said it was very nice based on a relatively short time with the 'gun during the show.

A field test is in order for sure. As I said, I hope to shoot and get my mitts on this thing in the field in May at a game down the road from where I live. My friend that initially told me about this 'gun is hopeful that his friend that made this thing will be in attendance. I am VERY hopeful he will be there!

So the Semi-Auto kit won't come with it for the base price? Darn. Oh well to be expected I guess.

Thanks much for the info!

Yes, Sunny Lopez is a strong supporter of the gun.

russc 03-01-2012 07:17 PM

Right on. He's one of the few big name players I really respect in the industry.

melkson 03-02-2012 02:12 PM

Now they need to integrate an adjustable angle scope rail. that should be standard.

This looks awesome... Granted, it costs arm and a leg.:bang:

doc Zox 03-02-2012 03:37 PM

950 bucks

Gas mask 03-02-2012 03:40 PM

But the question is, is that gonna be an all stripped down, "Ok, you want it to work? that's an extra 500" sort of price.

doc Zox 03-02-2012 03:49 PM

sounds like bolt/semi with a remote hook up

13ci buttstock is extra

subyrally 03-02-2012 05:55 PM

I would think they sell the cqb or the full rifle kit first
Then you choose the accessories.

We didn't get accessories price yet

Yeah, even though I'm a fan of the rifle overall, I did have to facepalm a bit when he said that... :ROTFL:

GoatBoy 03-03-2012 12:29 AM

So I assume everyone has forgotten the Tiberius T4 by now.

russc 03-03-2012 12:39 AM

Yes...the 12 gram powered Tiberius T4...

Those guys really need to get on the ball and make cheap non-12 gram mags, with simple remote adapters or air-in-stocks. 12 grams are cool for pistols, but generally speaking are dumb for a Sniper platform. Actually, they're dumb in general because they complicate the entire magazine system unnecessarily.

that, and generally HPA is much more reliable consistent through out most temps. But i guess TA went for the cool factor of a self contained system.

i wonder how long they have been watching the CCM thread?

ECAPNation 03-03-2012 01:02 PM

It is bad *** Ill give it that. But not something Ill be after. The way I play doesn't have room for a huge bolt action gun.
