Just got my lever action too (pics for llaw99 inside)
Just kidding, it's almost done, I'm having a thadapter added to it later, the trigger moved forward about 1/4" and a front sight bead added.

It cocks really smoothly and holds air nicely. It has an instapierce pin, an old nelspot one with the tiny piercing pins instead of the CCI style, and it pierces REALLY easily. Like, I was impressed when I aired it up. I've had palmers squalls with CCI pierce pins, and those are a bit harder to pierce 12-grams with than this build.

Overall I'm really happy with how it turned out! Thanks Rick!

Beautiful, man! I want Chplnstone to build me a lever so bad, I just can't decide if I want him to do everything, or have Rick build the body and valve and whatnot

Looks absolutely gorgeous!

Here's some other pics of the lever on the bench, American flag in the stock.

Plus a classic, Rick's personal rifle which he refinished, now with aluminum pump handle and bolt. This one cocks really well and is really smooth, it's been worn in well.

Oh wow, I love the tattooing. It's not overwhelming and just the right amount.

Chplnstone's tattoo with Rick's stock finish is really something special...

I'm envious of the large lever too. My next build will probably end up the same as my last one but with a larger loop.

Oh I'll want chplnstones feed cap system as well.

Also love those sights!

I have some wood parts to send to Rick to get his fantastic finish on, along with that brass bolt that needs adjusting.
Does he do Ghost rings as well?

llaw999 04-05-2012 07:22 PM

I think it's safe to say Rick can do anything.

Also, I know several months ago I promised pictures of the "first" viper lever action (not counting the weltman's), but I got lazy and forgot. Here are pictures, I need a new cartridge valve, which is why there's no trigger group on it at the moment. Also I'll be refinishing the stock soon, it's one of Teimusan's reproduction K2 stocks that I dropped a Bretg lever action assembly into. It has a custom titanium hammer that I made as well.
