General chit chat about the shop. Get a coffee and a smoke, then get back to work.
Well a thread is a good start!
No coffee and smokes for me, I did have some really good pizza earlier though :D
Redstar99 stopped by this evening and started the process of cleaning up the disaster I call a shop... I have this strange feeling he will be asking for some custom work in the near future ;)
Maybe some pictures tomorrow.
im in ...:)i will watch this post:)
I will browse this thread at work.....2 screens Gibbs on one MCB on the other.
Well if you shop folks don't chat, what is there to watch? ;)
No coffee and smokes for me either but I'll take a beer.
This might be a good place to trade tips , tricks and ideas on stuff.
I really like going thought other shop forum and go through the shop photos.
I like to see how others have there shop set up. Damn I got to clean mine so I can take some photos of it ....
speaking of photos, I just about done hooking up two new machines today (hardinge lathe and new compressor), new lighting next... then photo time!
and beer, more to come. I have come to realize it is not possible for me to work two full time shifts in a day and enjoy it without several brews throughout :D
I guess the best question I can think to ask, that would benefit me the most, is...
What CAM software are folks using, and what do they think of it for ease of use?
I am planning to invest in some software, but want something I don't have to fight with to get gcode out of... Specifically, I am looking for 3d and 4th axis capabilities.
for software i use hands left and right, they do a solid job of handling the hardware and a good job of bashing things when they misbehave :p i keep a small, messy shopspace/storage outside, and an even smaller shopspace/storage inside...
a corner of the outside:
little bit of the inside:
