Hanging up my pump

Well as much as i hate to do it, I'll be hanging my s6.5 on the wall.

Been playing locally at the field that was built near home and we're getting a bunch of "regulars" playing, which means teams actually playing as a team. Gone are the days of figuring out the weakest link of the team, the tunnel vision guys and the lone wolfs that think they can do good on their own and not call out positions.

I used to play pump to play down to lesser players, but now that everyone is an equal, me playing pump is just gimping the team. Sure i can continue to try and get better at pump only but it's just not fun anymore and I dont play consistently enough to get better. Every time I play pump lately i just find myself getting frustrated and putting it back in the truck and grabbing my DM. Because in the end fun is all that matters, i rather have fun with a semi than be frustrated with a pump.

*sigh* oh well, was fun while it lasted, guess i'll still bring it with me incase it's less of the normal players there and when i travel to away fields.

Anyone else have trouble pumping it lately?

Lately I have been getting annoyed with stock class.. Think I need to make a stick feed for my phantom... :) no batteries here ever again..

Admitting your weak on the battle field is the first sign that you have accepted your own death.

I've played pump against the worst of the paintball scum bags, do I hang it up? Nah.... I play angrier.

I played nothing but pump for about a year. Most games I would just get creamed. Now, I play pump when I feel like it and my Axe gets 85% of my time.

I have to be in a REALLY good mood to pull out a pump gun.

I have not fielded a gun other than a phantom in 4 years..

If I'm going to play against D2/D3 players, I'll grab my Geo/Other electro smurf Uzi. If it is a friendly game, it is going to be a Chipley/Avratech/Tippmann every time.

Just played open class against speedballers today. I had a good time. I even blew up (verbally) on someone who wouldn't get out. Gave him a bonus ball lol. I was more upset with the wiping going on rather than them out shooting me. I will NOT go down without a fight.

you can do quite a bit of damage even with a pump. especially, since you have auto trigger.

either way, have fun with whatever you choose to shoot.

The only down side I have to pump versus semi is when the semi's are so padded up that if you make a great shot all it does is tell them where you are.

Mind you this is SC I usually play. So not really that big of deal with a nice OC like your 6.5 there. Sounds like you need to give the 6.5 more field time to feel how strong it can be?

I don't see anything wrong with this. Fun is the goal, how you get there is up to you.

At least you plan to keep the pump for more relaxed days, that way you can still have fun with it.

Go forth and play paintball!
