Anyone have tips for getting paint out of carpeting?
So I am moving this weekend and I just discovered at some point a paintball must have fallen down behind my gear box and got squashed. :bang:

I have gotten paint on this carpeting before and it has come out but I have removed it immediately. So far I've tried hot water and some Shout and a little has come out but it is still mostly there.

Does anyone have any tips for getting it out? I am required to have the carpets steam cleaned after I move out, do you think that might get it out?

Thanks in advance!

i am sure a steam clean would do it, but you may not want to leave it in there for a long time.

See if a local janitorial supply place rents the "Host" carpet cleaner. I used to sell and rent this stuff when I sold janitorial supplies.

It looks like wet sawdust; it's dry cleaning chemicals suspended in ground up corncob hulls. There's a machine you can rent, but if you just buy the smallest bag of Host that they sell you can use it with a stiff brush.

Pull a medium size handfull out, and dump it on the stain- grind in the Host material with your foot. Take your stiff brush ( a nail brush works great for this) and work it in. Let the materiel dry- takes about 15 minutes- and vacuum up.

A friend of mine dropped and broke a full 1/2 gallon of Jim Beam on my carpet, and I jammed down to work, brought the Host machine home, used generous amounts of the material- and you couldn't smell any booze the next day.

You can also use Brakekleen- since that's dry cleaning chemicals as well. Always test stuff like this in an inconspicuous spot first.

Can you just paint the rest of the carpet to match?

I was mixing paint to fix where the dog chewed the baseboard and the thought crossed my mind
