I need a new dryer
Anyone have any recommendations for new dryers on the lower-cost end? Our old one blew up on us and my ma is offering to get us a new one for my birthday.
Mostly concerned about reliability, then efficiency. Hoping to keep the cost around $600 or less.

We got a whirlpool basic front load gas dryer last year I think it was 400 or 500 bucks. So far so good, works fine and reliable so far.

Ooh that's a good point, this will be electric preferably.

Electric is usually 100 cheaper then gas, so that is good.

I would point out that "Maytag" is now really Whirlpool. Don't waste the money.
Kenmore, as a brand, and it's (as I recall) offshoot Roper have been pretty reliable for cheap machines.
With the building craze in a funny place this may or may not work, but you used to be able to score essentially brand new builder level appliances off CL super cheap around here. I bought a brand new washer for $40 that has honestly never been used.

I've heard some negative feedback about Maytag/Whirlpool before.
My ma is pretty set on getting us a new one, if it was just wifey & I I'd be scouring the CL ads.
I've heard good things about LG, anyone have input on those?

Love my Samsung, picked it up at Lowe's at a scratch and dent sale for half price.

Shop the Craigslist ads and let ma pay for a nice dinner.

I have had LG and Samsung. Both were well made. Only reason I got rid of the Samsung was because the washer blew up (had it for 12 years) and wanted a new matching set.
