I prefer stainless and from what I've read it seems as if .685 is the way to go now.

Mike's newer stock barrels are bored at .686. Personally I'd go for .682 if I only started with one. Empire also offers a .680

yeah paint is small these days.

my go to is 0.684. occasionally I have found use for 0.681.

best bet is to ask the people who are shooting the same paint as you what size inserts they are using and then take into consideration that if they are using a semi-auto, you can go probably go smaller.

I'm not sure that sp vs empire makes a difference, but I would go for the stainless over the aluminum--if nothing else they are more durable.

I shot the .681 bigshot at the classic with Nelson anarchy. Didn't have a single break all day. Granted freak inserts are not as beautifully honed, but I was plinking around my backyard with .682 in my micro two days before using old dimpled junk from osg in November. No breaks there either. .679 on the other hand...blender

.682 would be my suggestion as well. Paint has been right around .684-.685 the last few times I've been out.

Ditto on the 682. I was shooting Graffiti at Slim's this past weekend. Anything bigger than 682 and paint was rolling out.
