Craig's List score

So after seeing the thread in DZ I have started to cruise the local listings for paintball stuff.

Saw a deal I couldn't pass up. A Diablo pump with gear for $10.

Originally was $20, but I hadn't looked at it for a few days. Then the priced got lowered.

These are the pics from the listing. I've got it apart on the workbench and she's really nasty on the inside.

Some of the paint on the frame has gone soft from oil. I might strip it and refinish.

It's like a time capsule from the 90's. The hydro date on the tank is 96.

Well I went through it and cleaned it up.

Lots of hot water and Dawn. Plus some gun solvent and a scotchbrite pad.

It had been working before I took it apart, and again after I put it back together.

Then it didn't.

Turns out the cup seal gave up the ghost after 25 years.

Took it apart and dug out the old, decayed seal. Didn't have a replacement so I tried screwing on a loose Azodin polymer one I had.

Holy crap, it works.

The threads don't match but with some Loctite or super glue I don't think it's going to fall off.

ETA: ended up making some homebrew seal washers cut from a plastic lid. Stiff, but with some give to create a good seal.

The Azodin/Spyder style polymer was too hard and it would leak if any lateral pressure was applied to the powertube.
