Scored a fixer-upper PGP...

Since I apparently don't already have enough projects... looking pretty original, though.

Well that was a mistake. What he was trying to say was “Firing mode: PGP Ramping” click Clack Bloop! Click clack bloop!

Nice snag for $35 palmers has fast changers in stock right now for them. Get em while they are still hot.

That shouldn't take too much to get shooting again either. Good score.

Annnd she's free.

Seems like there's an inordinate amount of tension on the ball bearing detents in the bolt... even in its present state of total lubricatedness, it takes a lot of force to break it free from the forward position.

But I still need to get my allen keys from my other truck so I can break it the rest of the way down, clean everything & see what's up, so I may be a little hasty in that assessment.

That's actually a super easy mod. Take the spring out of a Pilot G2 pen and it fits perfectly and greatly reduces the pressure to pump the gun and the pump still stays forward when you shoot it without holding the pump.

Interesting, I'll look into that. Thanks for the tip.

It has freed up a bit more since earlier, but still really stiff. It seems to be a pretty low-mileage gun; the paint is in really good shape, save for the bits rubbed by the pump handle, obviously... (the surface finish qualities are similar to my never-fired PGP) all the edges are crisp and the knurled parts are sharp & unworn.

Just another one that got used a few times & tossed in a box I suppose.

She's a runner...

Airs up with no leaks and cycles smoothly with reasonable effort... test runs on Sunday, hopefully.

Parts used:
1x PGP valve seal kit from Palmers
2x #8-32 x 1/2" stainless steel hex-head machine screws from Lowes, frame to body mounting (original phillips heads were cammed out). Had to shorten by about 2mm.
2x 1/4" stainless steel ball bearings for the bolt detent

*Update: First 5 shots across the chrony were between 275-285 and it's just as accurate as my other one. Freakin' love these things.
