Both are extremely easy for two people, and I think up to either 4 or 6. Those games are our go to (wife and I) after bedtime with the kids. Cool set pieces and boards, exciting race against the elements type gameplay. It has multiple difficulty levels if you're feeling bold or just want a casual game.

Plus they are only $25 each, which isn't crazy expensive in terms of full games these days.

My wife and I play a lot of Fluxx, but it seems to get a little boring with only two people.

We've had a lot of fun playing Targi, which is designed for only two players. It's sorta like iterative tic tac toe while you try to build up your tribe's resources and treasure. We like it a lot.

I've also read pretty good things about a 7 Wonders variant that's for two players, which we were thinking about getting. Haven't played it though.

Bluffing/deception/deduction game. When you have more than two players, becomes political (oh, that guy has one character left but you have two so I'll attack you first).

I have 7 wonders but never played the two player variant. Heard it was fun; if I do play it, I'll get back to you.

Get Bit is another quick and easy game to get into.

I think the main problem with two player games is that they get old fast, especially when you're playing shorter games/gateway games. idk, YMMV.

Zombicide can be fun with just two players, and since it is cooperative, it will lead to less marital strife.

My wife wants to play games but was brought up to be hyper competitive so we tend to stick with simple games or co-op games when playing together. DO NOT play RISK with your spouse if she is competitive. My daughter and I still joke [out of ear shot] about the one time we tried to get my wife to play during a family reunion. It was not pretty when her daughter and husband attacked her from two different directions.....

I play Lord of the Rings Risk with my super competitive wife She usually ends up winning and taking all others down as I just like to dork around and cause mischief. LotR Risk has a timer to it so it wont take a month just to play.

Sushi Go!

It's a great card game for couples and is also playable up to 4 people.

I'd recommend this as well. Also Tsuro is super easy to play and very different.

here a good question that was not ask or brought up. when comes to games. how hard and easy do you want the games to be. not sure if she would like play games that are hard to learn and play or hard to play come paired to game that hard to learn at start be easy to play. so what level of difficulty do you want. since we all can give games to play or try. but with out knowing the level of difficulty. not sure how we can give answers you might want.
