5E One Shot Ideas

I've become the default DM/GM for a few different groups over the years, but now that my wife and I have a 11 month old I no longer have the time I need to plan for my Forgotten Realms-ish (injected with a healthy dose of homebrew) games.

Over the holidays I ran a holiday themed one-shot I grabbed off of Reddit which everyone enjoyed, especially me as I didn't need to do any planning.

As the holiday game was well received, I'd like to assemble a collection of vetted one-shots and/or short arcs (2-4 sessions) that I could run for my players. I'd prefer games that are 5E or easily 5E compatible, they don't need to be WoC, happy to run any good Paizo or Kobold games that might be out there, or any great games people have run across on Reddit or elsewhere.

Any ideas or thoughts are appreciated.

try these

https://www.sageadvice.eu/2016/03/22...-page-dungeon/

I've looked through a few of them and they seem pretty easy to follow. D&D Beyond also has a list of small encounters that can be run as well in their Encounter of the week: https://www.dndbeyond.com/tag/encounter-of-the-week

Take a look at those.

Lost Mines of Phandelver could be broken into several shorter adventures. Just place them all in different places as needed

Only problem with LMoP is that I've run it a million times lol

It's a great module, just looking for something different.

I will definitely check those out once I'm home and not behind the firewall of doom

ya those were fun to actually look at, you def have to follow the instructions, right click save as I think it was. And then they are individual PDF's, so you kind of have to root through a lot, but it's pretty cool for one page adventures. Pretty good for what you want I think, not that you can't fit a lot of adventure into 1 page.

You may find inspiration in the resources for Basic Fantasy RPG. This is basically 0D&D reskinned and offered under the Open Gaming License. It should be easily converted. The game is offered as a free download... as in no charge. All rules, modules and related materials are available.
Free Downloadable Resources

Take a look at:
Quote:
AA1 Adventure Anthology One
Release 18
by Chris Gonnerman and Contributors
This multi-module work contains fourteen short adventures (over 80 pages of material!) for beginning to mid-level characters.
Quote:
AA2 Adventure Anthology Two
Release 22
by James Lemon, Chris Gonnerman, and Contributors
This multi-module work contains fifteen short adventures (over 100 pages of material!) for lower to mid-level characters.
You can buy the books and modules, but you don't have to unless you just want a nice physical copy. You can find them at damn near cost at Amazon and a few other places.

Oh darn. I forgot to look through the files I have. I'll try to get to that this weekend.

Thanks everyone, probably not going to run again anytime soon - though I've been invited to play in a Ravnica game run by one of my players, so I'm looking forward to that.

While not directly related, I've seen D&D is releasing a new essentials box set, which contains a new adventure related to the beginner box game. Since I never actually got the beginner box, I'm hoping to grab this at some point as well. Should be showing up in Target first in June I think.

Since Canada has no Targets now, I guess I'll have to wait. Hopefully this works to get more new players.
