Nope. They just keep the ball under the feed tube, to avoid doubling. When the bolt moves foward the ball is pushed into the breech sizer.

Revolution anti-doubling detents

Decided to add anti-doubling detents to my Revolution.
Because the breech is larger then normal its very easy to chamber 2 balls into the gun, which always leads to breaks.
