Long term project - Double barrel PGP valve questions

Hello,

I recently found some spare Sheridan body parts ... And double barrel pooped in my head ...

So now I want to make one.

I have a PGP or two I can use for this project. But I have a few questions ...

- Sheridan vs cartige? Is one more suitable for double barrel?

- Is a standard valve able to handle the double barrel or will I have to make one from scratch?
The valve will be enlarge and I will have large airways between the tubes (I have done it several times on standard Sheridans).

- are the stock springs good enough or will they need to be swapped?

Then I need to make a decision on barrel ... I have some carbon fiber barrel that might look sleek ... and I just got 2 matching spring feed

Thanks y'all
X

Of the 3 double barrels I have owned, they were all cartridge valves.

Thanks for the info,

Do you remember if they were slotted all the way across or new holes were drilled?
Or only 1 hole was drilled and the back half was "twisted" to one side?

You would have a picture of one by any chance

When I built this one it used a cartridge valve ( this was one of the ones netsurferdude owned) all I did was drill out a new hole in the valve body in line with the transfer hole and file down the bolt lug at an angle to allow them to actuate the hammer ,then made a new pump rod to work the second bolt.

^ pretty sure you bought my old superstocker.
Some of those parts look familiar....

But as always, I reserve the right to be wrong.

For PGPs, I recommend what Chaos did with the two pump arms. Each bolt should have its own pump rod. The PGP spring travel is short. If you have a chance, go with a k-length spring.

You mean a spring from a K/KP?

One of my pgp is missing the hammer spring, so I'm looking for a spring. Any supplier / part number recommend?
I had the thought of getting e stroker spring set and lighten the hammer ...

Also, thanks for the dual arm recommendation.

You can buy a new KP2 hammer spring from Palmers.
