Sheridan to AC Grip frame adapters: Interest Thread

UPDATE:

Bad news guys...

My material didn't come in for the .5" adapters. It was supposed to be in two days ago and I was going to spend the last two days knocking out as many as I could. Unfortunately that means I can only offer the .75" adapters at this time.

I WILL be picking this back up spring break (first week of march) and will make plenty of extras. For those on the original list, if you still purchase one when I have them done I will include something extra/make it worth the wait.

I am really sorry, this sucks and I feel terrible. All paid orders for the .75" adapters have shipped (few days ago) but I feel like I am letting down those wanting the .5 adapters.

Once two more packages arrive over the next few days I will hopefully make a run of a few of these. This thread is just to gauge interest to help me determine how many to make.

I will be making these in both brass and aluminum, but I have a limited quantity of brass on hand. Price will be around $20 for Alum, and $25-30 for brass. I am considering doing some that I can get annoed, but haven't determined that yet or what it would add to the cost.

One thing I am not quite sure of yet is if I should make two designs, or one that will work for both PGPs and others such as the LB. Because the pgp is smaller, the wider plates (typically .75) interferes with the pump stroke. I am thinking of making two, one .5" wide and one .75" and offering both, but am open to suggestions.

I'm starting a list as this has generated a little more interest than anticipated. Priority is given by post/PM timestamp, earliest=higher

Manning: Brass, .5
pghp: Brass, ?
Pinkanese: Brass, .75
Illusive: Alum, .75"
Ganons: 2 Brass, .5, .75
Geldor: Brass, .75
Industrial: Alum, (Brass), .75
Slappa: Brass, .5
Crandall: Brass, .75
Axel: Brass, .5
Avalon: Brass, Alum, ?

And some installed photos, this is the .75" which will not work on the PGP, but just showing for reference. This is one of the thinner frames but did match the length well.:

And for reference, I am pulled (and checked) dimensions from here

Probably add $2 for shipping, Haven't finalized it yet but prices will be very close to listed up there.

I would be in for one, most likely brass also. Especially if it's only a 5 to 10 dollar difference. I guess width wouldn't matter to me, as long as it was close to the majority of cocker frames. I have a pmi-1 and 68 magnum

I honestly don't know the average thickness of an AC frame, anybody have a few they could measure?

I will see if I can stop being lazy long enough to get dimensions.

All (well almost all I think) AC frames are thinner at the front. So most frame adapters taper down around the middle from ~0.75" to ~0.5", which solves the PGP dilemma. If you can make a brass one for $25 I am game, otherwise put me down for an AL one.

EDIT

On my 3 frames
Front section 0.469-0.509
Rear section 0.720-0.751

The Benchmark and Taso frames were really close on the high end, the stock WGP was super skinny. I imagine most adapter made in the past used the 0.500" and 0.750" dimensions.

I'm in for a brass version, so long as the price stays around that $25-30 mark.

Are slider type frames the best to use with these guys? I've never used one before, but have grand plans for a project and this would be beautiful on it.

I will be offering two adapters, one with .75" width and one .5" width, both will work on the larger sheridans (LB, etc.) while only the .5" will work on the PGP.

As for what frame to use, I really have no idea what is "best", someone more experienced can probably answer that for me.

These are pre-deburring/polishing, straight off the mill. This is the .75" version.

Some brass:

And alum:
