Go to Agent Smith's post in my thread here. He answers this question in detail.

Too bad its tippman and spyder style springs I wish it was one or the other. Looks like I gotta order both sets from maddman, ill shim the mainspring like he did for the typical a5 spring.

Keebler 03-23-2011 01:28 PM

Wish I had his source of pro am springs

Drive Spring - 7 Inches [Pro-Am] 15-SP

I wish I had written down the length of the Armotech/Core springs!
You may need to post a question to get someone to measure the length of a working one!

Done already ordered 2. And ill order the spyder spring kit from madman. I hear the t68 or whateveristol from rap4 has a nice cupseal I wonder if that would help with efficiency

agentSmith 03-24-2011 07:53 AM

It doesn't fit in the core type Keebler, I believe.
Check your pierce pin block. IF it's a threaded piece that screws into the lower tube it takes the rap4 type, but if it's a brass block held in by a setscrew then it's the zeus types.

By simply running a 1/4-28 tap through the brass pierce pin block of a zeus type, you can convert them to use the excellent phantom pierce pins. These are easy to order and keep on hand as extras.

What's the real benefit of them though?

agentSmith 03-24-2011 10:10 PM

Really? They're the only thing that you can reliably find. Miltec, Core and Warsensor aren't much.
Fortunately they really are awesome. I've had them last 700-800 changes, almost a whole season.

As Smith mentioned they are commonly available, on top of that they last a long time and they pierce much more cleanly and with less effort than the stock one.

Keebler 03-25-2011 12:45 PM

I wonder if anyone has any hopper adapters for this thing. Or maybe the one for the t68 will work. It looks like it attaches to the rails

PistolRogue 03-25-2011 02:03 PM

I dunno, I doubt you'll be happy with a hopper on it... I tried a 50 round grav-feed on my SA17 and it just can't keep up... You'd think that with how much you move around with a pistol you'd constantly be agitating the hopper for a consistent feed but I found more often than not I was shaking the paint right OUT of the feedneck and back into the hopper. The top-loading mod and lots and lots of practice are the way to go, IMO.

Keebler 03-26-2011 12:30 AM

I just meant for when I want to run a bulked up build. Like with a 3.5 oz and a 50 round hopper

Keebler 03-29-2011 07:49 PM

Does anyone have any scans of the manual. Or any idea what the stock spring length is. I have a stock spring but its old and who knows how compressed
