That works pretty well!
There is an easy way to get them back together, my friend Walt and I did a video:

Dish washer works great In the army we even put the guns trough the dish washer when the officers and head chef wasnt looking...
Just take it out straight after so the water can evaporate.. Blow drying with compressed air is also a good idea as water doesn't evaporate that easily from plastic..
