ION - High Or Low Pressure Bottle

ION owners.
A co-worker of mine is looking to buy his first paintball gun and is leaning towards the ion.
(I was steering him towards a nice kp but for some reason he wasn't going for that)

Anyway, What output pressure bottle should he look for?
I'm ASSUMING the ION is a low pressure gun, so a low-pressure-output hpa bottle?
I think I remember seeing in the manual that input pressure shouldn't be any more than 200psi, so I'm thinking a low pressure bottle with the gun's on-board regulator set down to about 200 then?

Thanks in advance.

You can use a high pressure output tank with the Ion. The Ion's regulator will take care of the pressure difference. I used the same Crossfire 68/4500 High Pressure Output tank on BOTH my A5 and my Ion, before I sold them.

Rain is right. The in-line regulator stays the HP pressure from the bottle reg... to the marker's working psi which is less than 200.

PLus an HP tank can be used on a lot more equipment, if he ever decides to switch.

Heres what i know i personally run a 92 by 4500 crossfire low output but you can run a high output tank. if you are going to run a high pressure output by an aftermarket reg. the stock reg seems to spike with high output bottles and destroy the noid

Not to be rude, but spelling and punctuation are your friends. I had to read this post 3 times to understand it.

Sounds good, thanks much guys.
*sigh* If only I could sell him on some classy 12-gram fed beauty then he wouldn't have to worry about this!

I think the only advantage to running a LP bottle is that you may get more shots per tank?

...but he may suffer a "shoot-down" situation if the output and input pressures are too close together.

You can use both HP or LP. it is your choice, and the ions are great on gas usage.
