Sterling Semi? (NOT Sovereign)

I ran across this Smart Parts ad in an old APG from 1995 advertising a semi conversion kit for a Sterling. Does anyone have one or know anything about them?

Sterling Semi? (NOT Sovereign)

I wonder if that was the precursor to the sovereign?

That's my guess too, but I can't remember ever seeing one or even hearing about it.

There was another thread about this somewhat recently. Here's what Bacci said:

Here are two relevant links. I think mine has an 11 stamped into the stop of the frame.

This design (which I believe was called the Auto Rocker was designed by Dave Galsworthy (Lada-Sterling/Proline) working with Glenn Palmer. The Sovereign came later and was the result of Galsworthy working with BBT (Renick Miller and Danny Love). The reg from the Sovereign (I believe became BBT's FPG Regulator.

I like the idea of the conversion kit. It looks simpler and cleaner than the sovereign.

Your first two links aren't working for me but thanks for the heads up. I should have known Dan would have posted something about it.

I found this about the Auto-Rocker and in this article you can clearly see that Glenn was a part of the design. These may be the same links you posted but I think he migrated articles to his new site.

I posted this up a number of months back Anson. I've always wanted one, yet have never found one to purchase. I wanted to find more info on it so I could attempt my own version of it.

Wow, how did I miss that; even a picture of the same ad I hope you find one Scottie! I was just curious how the action was modified and it was much more involved than I thought.

I’ll close this thread since it’s linked to yours now.
