The pneumatic comparison may not be a good example. Mine has no auto-oiler and i use budget tools. The heat in that case could be part friction.

This project has been about performance and fueled by direct observation, not abstract arguments.
Here is a test of air line temperature on a full auto HPA powered SMG.
Just simple physics as my old friend has said.

This is what is inside my gas lines. I cut away the outer tubing to show the inner tubing.

Nicely done. Thanks for the R&D work on making 68 Specials viable again... I'm looking forward to trying mine out soon.

wouldn't the conversion to external air be the ticket here to prevent any mishap? not to mention the ability to use modern macro or braided line

Sorry, limited access with this computer so I can't jump in at will. For Jordan, expanding air chills, compressing air heats, this is neither, it is precompressed air at 850 psi force through a tube 1/16 ID about 8 inches long, it's simply about friction.
The picture should explain your liner. As for the test: First, I am very happy that experimenters are still in the real world. But the test should be performed with a Type K Thermal-couple touching the tube for accurate results. I have ordered one for a youtube response. Still also need to get a high pressure HPA setup as I will never play paintball with one. I will however post an image showing the fault with the type of instrument used. Less than 1/10 of your reading was the actual air line. It will take time to generate and I need to log off. Til then..

The HPA tank out pressure varies between tanks and to do this conversion, the tanks you use should be in the 900 psi range. My tanks run between 700 to 900, so I have to use certain tanks on certain guns.
This video demonstrates the difference.
