I just modded a spare stock hammer I have with a drill press and Dremel to accept a 7/16" ID x 5/8" OD x 3/32 Wall oring so we'll see what happens, seems to fit nicely but gonna try it out and see if it works

Here's the comparison... The left is stock and the right is the modded hammer... I'd say it looks like it should work,I'll post my results soon

Update... It works! Not sure for how long it will but it works and cycled well with a 12g

I gotta ask, just how many shots does a VM get off of a 12 gram? I've never even thought to try it. Would I need all my fingers to count that high?

Not sure about a stock VM but this one cycled about 10 times and it sounded like most of the shots were normal usable velocity.... Next time I go to the field I'm gonna give it a proper test and find out.

Just tested it a little better with a 12g and actually fired a few rounds... It fired 15 usable shots and all at decent velocity. The new hammer oring mod so far seems to work great

Here's a pic of the mod without an oring on it to show how much you have to mod it

A dremel and a drill press? Well done. Looks like there's now one more project on my list. My last functioning VM went down last year and I've given up on Palmer's hammer rings. They seem to last maybe a day, if they don't self destruct with the first shot.

Thanks man,it's really simple to do... Only took me about 10 minutes total once I figured out what to use, tried a Jewelers file first then a reamer on the Dremel which didn't even make a dent in the Hammer,a round grinding bit made short work of it and was done pretty quick. We have a plumbing oring kit at work where I did this and it was a basic oring in that set I used,so far it's working well and hasn't failed to recock once aside from low co2,I figure even if it does wear out after 100 shots or so,it's still much cheaper and more readily available than the alternative.
