Its amazing they came any other way from the factory... such a simple thing to change the groove diameter on a lathe to use a non-proprietary seal. Well done!

Can you take a shot of the round grinding bit? Not sure I know which bit you are talking about.

I'm just posting my annual progress check.

Has anybody come up with a source for the standard hammer rings yet?

So far no one has,only PPS and Bacci seem to have any.....So far my modded hammer is going strong with a couple cases worth of paint through it and I've never had to change my oring....definitely worth doing in my opinion....worked with co2 and HPA on my old VM Magnum,The VMX I have now didnt like my stock HPA tank so rather than shim the reg I just switched back to co2 and its been working great ever since

Hey Folks,

I will have a few samples of factory replicas in hand within 5-6 weeks tops. Need a guinea pig or three. If the samples work, I will have 2000 factory replicas available for folks to revive their VM 68s. No VMX users. Only the original VM 68 style bodied markers.

If you can't get in touch with me here, it's because my work PC (my only PC) blocks MCB and other "non productive" or "unsafe" sites. Chaos knows how to find me on Facebook if I do not respond quickly.

Best,

Hello Folks

The molds have been made. I have EIGHT samples made, and they are on their way to me. I need three guinea pigs to test the hammer O ring on their "non VMX" style VM-68. Forest Hatcher can explain my logic on this.

The guinea pig would need to do the following:
1) Install my prototype hammer O ring;

2) Test the seals on CO2 and Compressed air. Record the number of burping and recocking issues;

3) Shoot / cycle the VM68 with the prototype o ring installed at least 500 to 1000+ times. Please film as much of this as possible.

4) Take detailed pics of the wear and tear on the hammer O ring after all of the testing. Leave O ring installed on the VM-68;

5) And film the results and post them here.

I will do testing of my own, but I want to see what others are experiencing with my seals before I make a few thousand.

Chime in here if you think you can do this before Christmas 2019.

Best,

Smiley
