PMI3 score, detents

vv0mp scored me a sweet PMI3. Just started tearing into it, but don't have any co2 to properly test it yet.

Of course the detent was shot. Made these up, thought I should share for the sake of anyone else trying to keep these alive -

If you tested it with a 12g, would you get a shot or 2 out of it?

So...same problem different marker...

The JT ER2 (probably ER in general) has a plastic finger double feed detent. I thought it was gone, but the bolt just sits on it all of the time in storage and it sets in the crushed position. I've taken to keeping a spent cartridge case in the breech to try to keep the bolt off of it. I hope it helps.

Dunno if a 12ie would cycle it or not, but I'll give it a try before I get a co2 refilled. Yeah, same issue with these VM detents - they get stiff with age and then deformed or broken by the resting bolt. A complete redesign would be the best long-term solution, but at least I know these will work despite that design flaw and I can keep them in supply indefinitely. The material I've used is way more durable in my experience, I think they'll be less prone to deformation.

Nice score! Very clean. Here’s BretG’s permanent detent solution

I can almost get 15 shots of a 12gram with a shoebox Shocker... VM's aren't that bad, are they?

Those detents are nice! Is it a similar material to the OE part?

I think they're both urethanes, I can't speak for how close to the original it would be because the original I have is almost rock hard, but it's super durable stuff and shrugs off the marker jackhammering on HPA, lol.
