darnit, my screen...

Is there some magic fix, or some unknown issue that causes a perfectly working LCD screen to just go out?

I had perhaps a couple of bad pixels on screen. Making some adjustments and all of a sudden, screen is DEAD. I see nothing aside from the battery charge meter and random flashes. No programming even possible.

Is the failure due to dirty connection, or bad LCD?
Is there some replacement other than spending too much on a now old Virtue (etc) board?

sucks....

Does the board look ok?

My gut reaction would be something popped loose and needs a little solder.

Yes, it isn't cracked or anything. I used a touch of WD40 and about "half" of it came back. Still not really readable, but I can see the full battery bar again, which had also quit.

I am in the midst of getting some other issues fixed, and will pursue this later. I know it operates right now, and in mode I want.

You might want to check out enoch paintball. As much as I love the stock purist boards, they self destruct over time unfortunately.

Yup, it's a pretty neat product, but honestly already have a Lucky Board, and a Virtue I want to pick up if it's available when I am ready. Both my G's have new batteries and I really like the feel of the "opto" component of the stock board, which I didn't back in the day. Really nice to not have to have 9v batteries around as well. I probably only have to charge the stock battery about once every 3-6 months. I haven't had to yet in 2.

Lucky for me that even defaulted the board does fine in Semi for the purpose or open play. Someone somewhere will have a stock board avail too, since they are all swapping to the Enoch...which is a great product, by the way, so far as reviews go. Time will tell on that.
