Ways to budge stuck breech knob on LED?

This one must not have been opened in a while. I can get a small amount of rotation in the knob, but I can't pull it back. I pulled pretty hard, but I don't want to break it. Been there, done that.

penetrating oil. If you can move it back at all. pull the back plate off and put oil down the spring hole. If its really stuck.... I can cut the rod out. I have done a few. Its not fun, but i can do it.

Take the breech knob off. PB Blaster really well. Lockjaw pliers over an innertube on the threads.

I'll get it disassembled and try PB Blaster.

The rods are steel, yes? I might look into getting one made in stainless to prevent rusting/oxidizing. I'd think a tiny amount of antisieze rubbed on would keep the rod moving freely.
