Titanium Spot Brand Single Speed Mountain Bike 29

Brand: SPOT BRAND Suspension: No Suspension
Model: CUSTOM 29 Complete Bike/Frame: Frame Only
Model Year: 2005 Frame Material: Titanium
Frame Size: S Condition: Used

This frame is from Spot Brand before they were bought out.

It is my opinion that this frame is close to a "small." See below for custom sizing. I ride a medium which is pretty standard throughout the industry. This bike was a little tight in the cockpit for me, so I used a thompson layback seat post which gave me a little more room. I am 5' 9" tall with a 32" inseam. I think the ideal fit might be a rider about 5'8."

Effective top tube (c to c): 22.5 in.

Top Tube (c toc): 21.5 in.

Seat Tube (c to c): 14 in.

Head Tube length: 3.5 in.

Seat Post Dia: 27.2 mm.

Seat post clamp: 31.8 mm.

This frame is 29er specific and was built around an 80mm 29er fork, therfore if you go ridgid fork you must use one that is suspention corrected for 80mm.

The eccentric bottom bracket (ebb) is lightened bushnell style.

The head badge is sterling silver custom by Jen Green.

Seat post clamp is included.

Frame condition: very good. The Frame has been altered from its original state as folows: There are 2 very small holes drilled in head tube, (see picture), these holes were employed to keep top bearing cup from slipping when a steering damper was used. With the steering damper gone, I had no slippage problems with my Chris King headset. I had the rear disc brake mount and two cable bosses welded onto this frame by a renound Titanium bike manufacturer. The final quirk of the bike is that it can only clear a 2.1 inch back tire. I had excellent performance with the 2.1 in nearly all conditions, but I know some riders prefer the "fat tire" ride. The use of a larger tire, 2.3) caused the wear mark and tube damage you see in the picture. The titanium guy reassured me that it is not structural damage at this point.

This frame would cost about $2000.00 new. I hope you score a deal on it, I have really enjoyed riding this bike and especially my friends reaction to the subdued bling of it.

Spot Ti 29er
Hello, is the frame still avilable? Do you know the exact name of the frame so I could ask the guys at Spot if I could install the Gates Carbon Drive on it. It requires splitting the right rear triangle. Thanks!!!
