    Bonebrake Build

Picked this Bonebrake up recently. Have been wanting to modify one of these.

Made a Lazarus valve. I made a new body and valve stem. Had to make the body a little longer to make the port lign up properly and not have the oring groove in the way. I checked for proper alignment using my firearm bore scope. Made the valve stem out of 17-4 stainless and will get heat treated. The valve stem tail is longer. I did read the other laz thread, and I have theries as why it wasn't working. I put a LAZ in my MT A4 angel and my HPR was at 165. Considering how much more volume an angel has, I figure that is something I need to address on my Bushy.

I designed an LPR adapter and volume chamber so I could use my cocker JDS lpr. The inside pasage is Wire EDM out to get the most possible volume. I also have some new internals for the lpr I want to try, so this will be the perfect mule for that. More on that later. It does have to use an external hose. I found some 10-32 90 degree barbs that use .1875 ID hose for higher flow. I didn't like the bulkyness of the fitting so I cleaned up the back a bit.

Figure I would make a new trigger while i'm at it. Will post more as I progress. I also have some volume and flow mods i'm going to do to the VASA.

Man, your craftsmanship is top tier! Im really looking forward to the finished product! Subbed!

I bet you could sell a bunch of laz valves for these baddies with their new resurgence in popularity.

The other thing i'm going to test just for fun is, all the volume. The first part of the adapter is the same threads as Shocktech lpr body. So I could plug the ports in that, and run my cocker lpr out of the VASA. My end goal is to eventually make an intergrated JDS lpr if/when i'm happy with my internal upgrades. I have issues with my AKA lprs creeping in almost every platform I have them on (Angel, Viking/excal, cockers, matrix). That is both the SCM and JDS style. I have identified a couple different causes and have a fix for one, and am testing a fix for the second. Click image for larger version

I think the creep on the SCM III is from a sharp edge that clips the "o" ring on assembly. I have a variety of SCM IIIs and JDS LPRs. Most of them work perfectly when tested with a gauge, but I have had a few lemons that creep like mad though.

Increased volume and flow in the VASA. Undercut the inside, but left a shelf for the reg to stop on. Had to make a special boring bar to get this done. Added air ports that I will also machine on the underside of the body. I finished the trigger. Waiting on some set screws from Mcmaster for the forward and rear travel stops. I think I want to make some slight adjustemts to the shape though.

Any chance you can whip up half dozen triggers for a promaster?

Little more progress. Was getting ready to assemble it and forgot to mod the ram. Figure I would do little slots the same size as the stock holes, just wider. That way I wouldn't have to worry about messing up the sealing location of the piston. Planning to make a bolt next weekend.

Preliminary test, shooting 290fps: HPR: 220psi, LPR: 65psi. Shot really smooth. I seem to have misplaced my box of Reballs so I used REALLY bad Defy paint. I'll work on a bolt this week. Want to make one similar to the one I made for my angel and 07 Borg. I will try to find my reballs to do more tuning/testing, and some videos.

I am really impressed with how fast the LPR is recharging, and no creep (using an expensive digital gauge). Side Note, I can't say what, but AKA has some new stuff in the works.

                            For ICD?

Are they finally going to dust off the destructive customs FSP and release it?
