    Paintballs- Country of Origin?

Looking to order paint online for backyard testing and I'm seeing that Valken is made in China. I'd rather not support Chinese manufacturing if there is an alternative. What quality paint is not made in the PRC? Amazon being the exception, but most sites don't state the country of origin, so I was hoping the marvelous MCB hoard would know.

It really depends on which line of paint you get; a lot of Valken paint comes from Korea (Graffiti especially). GI is mostly Canadian, APX is SoCal. I'd recommend HK Army paint if you're anywhere west of the rocky mountains.

That being the case, DEFINITELY give HK Army paint a try. It has been the best shooting paint for the money I've ever shot in my 13 years of playing. At every price point, it shoots like a ball $10 more expensive.

Lew wait till you shoot some of the APX. Its been clumping together in huge balls as the heat goes up......sucks when you are gun fighting with your pump and jolo set up and you can feel the balls clumped together ...good thing it was happening to DeltaSteve at the same time as me.

Hah! Wait, you mean paint isn't supposed to do that?

I've heard good things about defy paint. No idea where it's made though.

Defy in the North East was Garbage! The rep dropped some off to shoot at my local pro shop. I shot a few bags in my pump then gave the rest away to some young rental kid in the staging area it was so bad.

Unfortunately Nelson is currently only producing clear .68 caliber "training" projectiles. They will make normal paintballs on order, but you have to buy in bulk.

Not sure how many encapsulators GI has left in Canada since the restructuring/bankruptcy. I know at least one encapsulator machine for paintballs has been switched to CBD capsules production.

2 and 3 star GI paint was crap anyway.

I've noticed that Valken Graffiti says made in Korea on the box and Valken Pro/Redemption does not say that.

I know GI had 22 encapsulators in Canada for the GI patented paint blend with flour in it... apparently. I guess the patent on paintball fill ran out and anyone can make it, so as a way to cut costs on paint the added flour and patented that?

As I understand, 5 machines were converted to CBD capsule production to keep jobs in Canada. The Government of Canada is a 10% owner of GI and that was part of their deal. Plus the profit and taxes on CBD is much higher than paint I'm sure.

My foil hat tendency wants to blame RITF, or the Richmond Italia Trust Fund; a large shareholder and douche extraordinaire (a French Canadian term, not that other thing...). He had the money to try and turn it around, but wanted to get into the legal cannabis game and did so as soon as possible. He'd rather race stock cars and bleed companies dry than play paintball.

So yeah, a businesses decision ultimately. Richmond js also the guy that brought in GIs last CEO who started to put the squeeze on them, now he's moved on to Remington and is trying to shutter the NC plant. I dont think "GI for the player by the player... businesses as usual" will be necessarily true, but we'll see.

Personally I'm going to keep buying valken graffiti when available. And for the record I lived in South Korea and love both paintball and legalized cannabis.

I've heard mixed reviews about Pro Shar, made in Russia?

But the art alone on the America First paint box makes me want to buy one anyway.
