This is a 1953 Bulova Thayer Selfwinding (automatic) SN 8140018. Rolled Gold (not plated)
It is well loved and needs a cleaning and service and probably a repair.
It will run for a short period of time but jumps. I have not wound it completely. The rotor swings freely (it's very cool to hear it buzz in the case).
Crystal is cracked on the edge between 1 and 2. Dial has heavy patina. Lugs at 4 and 11 have wear thru the gold. Original band included (just to keep them with the watch, they aren't usable)
For those not familiar, these are small watches. Case is 1-3/6" diameter. Lugs are 5/8".
Watch has a nice weight and would make a nice vintage heirloom quality watch once serviced/repaired.
