I love this build. It looks great!
I bought one earlier in this project. When I welded the mag body it caused a small amount of warp. Getting the doc's adapted in and out became a pain. So I milled the current barrel out for first strikes. I also believe that using the docs adapter may offer a stronger detent (rubber fingers).

I just need to find a barrel that matches the look of the gun.

What are you using for a detent? Either a wire detent or a strip of tape over the nub on the plastic one work fine with modern paint.

I have tried both the wire and the plastic detent but when I put in a 12rd mag, I am always getting a couple pushing through. Maybe my detents are worn and I should buy some more. I will have to try the tape trick. The paint I am also using to test was coming in way under .680.

You might be able to trim down a tippmann detent. If you shave off some of the step at the front, it'll fit in the nubbin groove. The actual detent finger will sit too far in to be useful, but might work with some trimming and testing.

BretG also suggest this as well. He swears by tippmann detents in all of his mag fed creations.

I do think I found the source of the problem. There was a small burr on the inside of the body from a thru hole. That was cutting and catching the back barrel o-ring which keeps pressure on the detent. I pick up some harder durometer O-rings and cleaned up that burr. Now time for testing again.

                Any luck with the tape?

Going to try it this weekend. I need to get some tanks filled up.

Got to play in my shop today:

-Sorta fixed the feeding issue with the little bit of tape on the detent.
-Drilled the stock retaining screw so I can adjust velocity without removing the stock.
-Added sling mounts to the stock. Have a modified Sten sling attached
-Bought a Mk5 Commando grip (wont fit on a Mk2 Sten body), cut it up, made it a bit longer, added an ASA. Now I have two stocks to switch between depending on how I like it.

I think it might be time to take this to the field. Once the gun proves it works, I will work on the finish.

Pictures because words are for losers

                Full stock with sling

                Stock no2 with back bottle.

                Full stock vs ASA stock

Mk5 grip in its standard configuration vs my modified one

Love this creation of yours, this must be the fifth time I've visited this thread. Just to look at it again!

I love it! My personal taste says you should leave the wire stock / full stock with sling as it looks more "original" but I absolutely love that build!!

It is a little bulky on the field but I love it with the full stock.

I used the gun last weekend for walk on and it is a blast. This was my first time playing magfed (other that playing with an ATS back in early 2000s). Bret and Jason both fell victim to the STEN.

My brand new 15ci/4500 first strike tank wouldn't hold air and now I am definitely sending that back. With a normal 13ci/3000 tank I got about 120-130 good shots out of the gun so the STEN stock will work.

I ran most of the day back bottle and it is way more comfortable but it was nice to switch between the two. The taped standard automag detent performed flawlessly with no rollouts.

Now onto re-milling the first strike breech on the one barrel then this with be even more deadly on the field. I may also mill out the Doc's adapter and try getting an autococker rifled barrel. Back to work!

130 shots on a 13/3000 is decent. That's about average for most magfed markers. I thought they said Mags were inefficient? Lol

As an update, I have been playing more games with this gun and really getting the hang of it. A normal 50/45k tank out the back is the most comfortable set up.

I recently got some of Superman's 3d printed detents and all my double feed issues went away. I think its time to powder coat it and bring the gun to its final form.
