    Neck protector

Typically for paintball other than the mask, I wear a cup and shin/knee guards (these are more to protect when sliding or dropping on knee). Any other protection and I get too hot.

But last time I played I took 2-3shots around the neck. I know years ago when I started playing a friend gave me an extra padded neck protector, he had bought a few. After playing a few games with them, we did not use them. Just got too hot and uncomfortable.

Doing a search for neck protectors, there several padded options. Those likely would still have the same issue.

Any of you guys that do 3D printing thought about doing some. Maybe from a softer material that would help bounces, vented that would keep it cool.

Either that clips around the neck or maybe attached to the mask but floating (like hockey neck guards)?

We would usually wear a bandana around our necks. When the temperature gets around 100F we have some chill-it rags, which are absorbent and kept in an ice chest

A ninja flex grid would work, but would need to be fitted on the mask and person. Some of us have shorter necks than others.

I havean idea, but it would take a l9ng time to make.

im working on molds to make foam rockets. This thread gave me the idea. Rather than 3d printing a neck protektor I would 3d print the mold of the model, then make the neck protektor our of prop foam.

That being said, i dont have autocad, so I cant model this for you, but Id be willing to try to print the mold if you can get an stl of your desires.( after my wifes flexy slug, and my cooling duct parts so it would be a bit.

...you think a ring of hard textured plastic is going to be more comfortable than something soft on your neck and throat area? I’d hate to see what kind of underwear you prefer.

Buy a normal neck protector, soak it in water every game, same with your dew rag or whatever you wear up top. Do this and your neck protector will actually keep you cooler, not the other way around.

I saw these guys selling chain mail neck protectors at a big game a couple years ago:
We offer custom made chainmaille neck protectors for Paintball and airsoft. They are lightweight breathable and customizable!

Not my thing, but kinda cool concept of hanging flexible protection from a mask. I’m sure you could come up with something clever like that with all sorts of materials and shapes.

I’ve seen these around. Pretty cool idea, not my cup of tea though. Everyone I’ve seen with them was cleanly shaven….

You know that just might work. Another option that this made me think of, is maybe having something similar made from paracord. Would be light weight, flexible and could be washed easily.
might have to look for someone that makes some or maybe try my hand at it.

Eric at Evil Gerbil made me one out of denim to match my jersey. Boston PB makes som padded neck protectors that are similar to a oversized padded bandanna.
